Maintenance:
All roofing and cladding products are exposed to the external factors and effects of weather, dust and other deposits. Like any material that’s exposed to the elements, a little bit of maintenance is always required that will help your steel Roof and Cladding lasts longer.

Maintenance involves the following:
  • Regular Washing: Regular washing every 3 to 12 months (depending on the local environment). This helps to prevent the build-up of dirt, debris or other materials that are not otherwise removed by rain washing.
  • Regular Inspection: Regular Inspection of the Wall to ensure non accumulation of dust and other unwanted material.

Storage And Handling:
If colour coated sheets are to be stored for any time prior to forming or installation, they must be stored in dry, well ventilated conditions. Storage which allows water (including condensation) to be trapped between the sheets may damage the coating beyond repair.

Some Do’s and Don’ts that needs to be followed as below:-
DO’s:
  • Always keep material in a dry, shaded and good ventilated area
  • If not required for immediate use, provide cover to protect the material
  • If Sheets become wet during storage, it should be separated without delay & surface moisture removed with clean cloth. The steel sheets then be stacked so that air circulation completes the drying process
  • Material to be kept slightly above the ground by using wooden rubber plank.

Don'ts:
  • Do not keep the material on wet floor (water, rain. etc.)
  • Moisture or water penetration between the sheets through the wooden pallets which causes damage hence to be avoided
  • Prevent water seepage inside the packed coils and packets
  • Metal-on-metal contact should be avoided whenever possible
  • Under no circumstances should the material be stored near or come in contact with salt water, corrosive chemicals, ash, or fumes generated or released inside the building or nearby plants, foundries, plating works, kilns, fertilizer, and wet or green lumber.

Galvanising is the process of coating clean, oxide-free steel with a layer of Zinc or Zinc alloy protect the surface against corrosion. The zinc coating provides protection to Coated Coils & Sheet the iron or steel in two ways:

  • It shields the base metal from atmospheric and environmental corrosion.
  • Zinc layers provide cathodic or sacrificial protection because it is more electronegative than iron or steel. Even if the surface is scratched and the base metal is exposed, the zinc is slowly consumed while the iron or steel remains protected from corrosion.

The hot dip process is adaptable to coating nearly all type of fabricated and non-fabricated products such as structural assemblies, pipes and tubes, fittings, tanks, sheets, strips, and wire cloth.

Aluzinc, Zincalume and Galvalume are different trade names of one product. Aluzinc is cold rolled galvanized steel with metal coating compose of Aluminium (55%), Zinc (43.5%) and slicium (1.6%)

  • Corrosion resistance: - 2.5 Times then of Pure Zinc Coated Sheets
  • It offers excellent thermal efficiency
